»Screen Burn (please wait)«, 2005. Steven Read wrote a software program in Apple II Integer Basic that displays an image on the monitor’s screen. Then he ran the program continuously for about 6 months. The software image was eventually burned into the screen because the internal phosphor compounds which emit light lost their luminosity and left behind a ghostly trace. The ‘please wait’ text is actually an image which took over 1000 lines of software code to create. The old Apple II operating systems (DOS 3.x, ProDOS, etc.) did not come with any font facilities, if you wanted a font you had to code it from scratch.

Stefaan Dheedene bought a piece of furniture from the Billy series at Ikea. The day before the exhibition opening, Dheedene took Billy back to Ikea. He received the money he invested back. In the time before the opening the artist hired a carpenter who reconstructed the mass-produced Billy as a unique work of art. Using a slightly different wood, Dheedene’s Billy was born – almost the same as Ikea’s mass-produced version sold all over the world, but unique.

How i got my autographed sean paul photograph
the story begins a St. Johnsbury Academy the place i went to school. During my senior year i started a band called foreign policy , the guitar player being a kid from japan named Reona
(the third one in from the left). Reona had attended the summer ESL classes where he met Shin and Yukiyasu, the three quickly formed the band Tinkerbell. At the end of the summer with Yukiyasu on guitar, Reona on bass and Shin on drum performed at the summer talent show. Unfortunately Yuki and Shin had to return school in Switzerland. The year pasted Foreign Policy disbanded; here is an example of some of the fine music we created: santa clause, reona calling to order Chinese food
two years pass and i am now a sophomore in college a Syracuse University when i end up meeting Shin outside of my dorm of course with his skate board.
I had Reona guitar from high school which he remembered from his days with Tinkerbell. My girlfriend at the time had also been to the summer ESL program with Shin, Yukiyasu, and Reona. After transferring schools and moving to NYC sophomore year she ran in to Yukiyasu at a Japanese book store. During spring break of Sophomore year i went down to NYC with Shin to stay with my girlfriend, at the same time Reona was on his way from Japan to visit Yukiyasu. What happened next would be know as the second reincarnation of Tinkerbell in the form of STF the rapper. After recording a demo with the Tinkerbell crew in Yuki’s apartment over break, Shin and i eventually started working on music some of which can be found here STF’s Music.

POWER to the billions of people…

This is a picture of her house.

CHONGQING, China, March 23 — For weeks a dispute had drawn attention from people all across China as a simple homeowner stared down the forces of large-scale redevelopment that are sweeping this country, blocking the preparation of a gigantic construction site by an act of sheer will…
Slacker

At the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas today, Broadband Instruments launched the potentially disruptive “Slacker” music ecosystem, which combines interactive webcasts, satellite radio, and traditional MP3 playback in a next-generation device that could make Apple’s iPod — and even its upcoming iPhone — look, well, a little unconnected.
Slacker will roll out in stages; currently, the only aspect available to consumers is the beta version of the free interactive online radio service at Slacker.com, which allows users to mold their own customized channels in the 128 Kbps MP3 format, starting with either Slacker’s presets or a list of one or more favorite artists. A premium version of the service will surface in early summer that will charge subscribers $7.50/month to get rid of banner ads, eliminate the “six song skips per hour per channel” limit, and allow users to designate any currently-playing track as a favorite to have it added to their online music library.
free music!!!

this article tells you how to download all the mp3’s off a webpage using a firefox add-on
that one is supposedly the best but here’s another article on six other ways to download mp3’s…
